The great men of history who were Freemasons

The great men in history who were Freemasons had their greatest qualities long before they were initiated into ‘the Craft’. We don’t teach character, integrity or intellect - we share it. We share our knowledge by learning from and teaching each other the lessons of life the answers to challenges and the secrets of living a life we can find satisfaction with. Couldn’t that be the greatest secret of the Freemason? The great Masons we celebrate were men of moral conviction, ethics and principle - the Lodge has the ability to assist him in making the best use of these qualities. Belonging to our fraternity won’t make a man of inadequate character, integrity or intellect a true Freemason any more than attending a ballet will make him a ballerina. The great Freemasons of history had qualities beyond personal credibility, most of them learned from their brothers and rose from their shoulders.
